If you’re considering a mountain biking holiday, Morocco should be at the top of your list – one of the world’s finest biking destinations! Exotic and alluring, Morocco offers a unique mosaic of cultures and a stunning variety of mountain ranges with breathtaking landscapes.

This adventure provides fabulous riding experiences around Marrakech, the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, and the rural villages of the countryside, all along gravel and tarmac roads.

Location

This bike adventure takes place in the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco, just a short drive from the vibrant city of Marrakech. The region offers hundreds of miles of dusty singletrack, ready to be explored. With years of experience guiding in the area, your local hosts will help you uncover the hidden riding gems of this extraordinary landscape.

The scenery serves as an impressive backdrop to your journey. The rugged, remote terrain feels untouched by modern pressures and offers a window into a bygone era. Dramatic valleys contrast vivid green irrigated fields at the valley floor with barren rocky scree slopes leading to snow-capped peaks.

Start Point:
You will be collected from your accommodation in Marrakech at 09:00 AM.

Finish Point:
You will be transferred back to Marrakech for around 5:00 PM at the end of your adventure.

Food

All meals will be prepared for you. If you stay in a local gite, the family running the gite will prepare a delicious Moroccan meal for you. All food will be prepared by an experienced cook.

Accommodation

During this bike adventure, you will be staying in a guest house in the Berber village, but we can also update the accommodation suits your needs.

We recommend packing the following items:

Normal daily clothes

Padded cycling shorts and gloves

Breathable top or cycling jersey

Sunglasses/eye protection

Stiff-soled shoes suitable for cycling

Waterproofs and long cycling trousers

For the earlier departures you may need some warmer layers

Water bottle

Energy cycling gels offer a quick form of crabs replenishment. Most contain the simple crab sugar, which is the fastest form of energy to replace glycogen. It’s suggested that people who cycle at a moderate intensity for more than 90 minutes, need to replace between 30g and 65g of carbohydrates per hour and we would thoroughly recommend bringing some of these with you, as well as some energy bars.

All visitors to Morocco are required to have a valid passport. However, nationals from the following countries do not need to obtain a visa prior to arrival:

Algeria, Andorra, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Côte d'Ivoire, Croatia, Cyprus (excluding the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus), Czech Republic, Republic of Congo, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Guinea, Hong Kong SAR, Hungary, Iceland, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Kuwait, Latvia, Libya, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Mali, Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Niger, Norway, Oman, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Qatar, Romania, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Tunisia, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, and Venezuela.

For tourists from countries that do require a visa to enter Morocco, it is advisable to apply through the nearest Moroccan Embassy. Visas are typically valid for 3 months and processing takes around 5-6 working days. Tourists may stay in Morocco for up to 90 days, although visa extensions can be a lengthy and complex process.

Note: Some travelers find it easier to exit Morocco through the Spanish-controlled cities of Ceuta or Melilla and re-enter, thereby receiving a new entry stamp.

We highly recommend that you obtain Travel Insurance to cover unexpected costs due to illness, accident, lost luggage, trip interruption or cancellation. Overseas residents must obtain insurance cover in their home country.

Itinerary

Day 1: Airport — Marrakech

Meet and great’ by ourselves on your arrival in Morocco at Marrakech airport and transfer to evening accommodation. Deposit baggage and breathe in the frantic pace and aromas of Marrakech.


Day 2: Marrakech via the pass Tizi Tadmamt (2100m)

we transfer you out site the city of Marrakech like 1h and half than we start . To warm up the muscles, we cycle first on the asphalt gradually up to the green Ourika valley. In Arhbalou (1300m), we go really into the Mountains and up to the pass Tizi Tadmamt (2100m). Then it goes up and down; Mountains at the Atlas, Berber villages and valleys. Eventually we reach the mountain village Imsker. Total approx 100 km. overnight in Imsker Night in at the Guest House.


Day 3: Mountain bike trip through the valley of Imenane to Tacheddirt

Along a mountain stream we gradually climb up on a beautiful slope to the high Berber village Tacheddirt. Along several villages surrounded by steep, green farm fields and rugged parts of nature. Total approx 50 km. Night in at the Guest House.


Day 4: Biking over the pass Tizi Tamatert (2280m) to Imlil

Today we can choose: the zig-zag way up you’ve seen yesterday to the pass Tizi Tamatert. Or an easy option; very gradual and paved road. You can enjoy the view over the valley in our nice Berber guesthouse in one of the small villages around Imlil. For enthusiasts, there even is the opportunity for a walk along the small Berber villages around Imlil, exploring culture and traditions in the afternoon. Total approx 20 km. Extra with the climb from Tinghourine approximately 10 km. Overnight near Imlil (1740m) – Night in at the Guest House.


Day 5: short walk to Tizi Mezzik + Mountain bike to Tassa Ouirgane

Today we are going over the pass Tizi Mezzik (2280m). Our bikes are transported by a mule and we are all walking to the pass. Then we will hit the road again with our bikes. A nice but difficult – single track – descent over rough and sometimes steep slopes through the beautiful valley of Ouazzaden to the village of \. Along the way, we have views over beautiful valleys. Total: walking approx 1,5 hours Mountain biking approx 35 km. Overnight in Tassa Ouirgane (1400m) – Night in at the Guest House.


Day 6: Kik plateau to Amizmiz

A small decent on the asphalt road to Asni and then a nice climb to the pilgrimage village Mousy Brahim, on the edge of the Kik plateau. From the Kik plateau we still go up and down, to the larger village Amizmiz. Total approx 40 km. Overnight Marrakech – Night in Riad.


Day 7: Departure

After breakfast at your hotel, transfers to the airport.


Things to keep in mind

Cancellations will require notification to be done in writing by the person taking the tour. There will be no refunds once a tour has commenced. Therefore, we recommend you take out comprehensive insurance cover for cancellation, medical expenses, personal accident and baggage and public liability.

Cancellations by the Client(s)

Notification of any cancellation must be made in writing by the client(s).
If the cancellation occurs more than 56 days from the departure date, the client(s) are liable for 20% of the cost of the trip.
If the cancellation occurs between 56 days, but more than 28 days from the departure date, the client(s) are liable for 50% of the cost of the trip.
If the cancellation occurs between 28 days, but more than 14 days from the departure date, the client(s) are liable for 75% of the cost of the trip.
If the cancellation is made 14 days or fewer from the departure date the client(s) are liable for 100% of the cost of the trip.
Failure to arrive at the scheduled departure point at the scheduled time will be deemed as cancellation by the client(s), and as such the client(s) are liable for 100% of the cost of the trip.
If the client(s) do not participate in any part of the trip as agreed at the time of booking, the client(s) are not entitled to any refund.


Reservations

By booking a tour with us (referred to in these conditions as “we” or “us”) you will be accepting these conditions on behalf of yourself and all other persons using our services pursuant to a booking made by you.

Booking Procedures & Payments

Once you agree on the quoted itinerary and price, we will raise a detail itinerary and invoice with payment details. Your booking will be confirmed when we receive 20% deposit of your invoice.
We accept payments by wire transfers to Our Bank Account (payable in US $, Euro)

Changes to your booking

We will make all possible to make amendments to your booking with no additional charges. However, travel within 15 days of the start of your trip it might not be feasible.
If you need to make changes, please contact us as soon as possible and confirm to us your request in writing. Again we will try to accommodate you so there are no extra charges, but we cannot guarantee it.
If changes are not possible to make in your booking, for whatever reason, you have the choice of proceeding with your holidays originally booked or cancelling and paying the cancellation charges as mentioned below.

Note: This itinerary and the duration of the activities are subject to change due to group abilities and preferences, and weather conditions and forecasts.

Kindly note that a minimum of 3 participants is required for the retreat to proceed.
