You are free to remove or add anything you desire from our service options, and we will simply adjust the price and take care of the logistics.
This retreat is a full body and mind reset. Receiving daily treatments that have been advised according to the results of your Ayurvedic consultation is a very profound form of healing, similar to Ayurvedic panchakarma treatments. Therefore, this program is definitely a step beyond a relaxing vacation, but a deep wellness rejuvenation and health journey.
Matea and Acyuta
Matea's introduction to the world of holistic wellness began during her high school days in Croatia, nurtured by her mother, an adept Ayurvedic and energy therapist. This early exposure to yoga, meditation, and Ayurveda laid the foundation for her life's work. At 16, she was initiated into Reiki healing, and by 20, she deepened her spiritual journey by residing in a Belgian ashram to study bhakti yoga, among other disciplines. Holding a B.A. in Eastern Religions and Theology, Matea enriched her knowledge while living in the ashram, engaging daily in meditation and holistic practices. Her quest for deeper understanding led her to India, where she immersed herself in Vedic culture, exploring bhakti and hatha yoga, Ayurveda, and various meditation techniques. She holds a 300-hour yoga and Ayurveda certificate from Rishikesh, along with Raja yoga and Anusara-based 200-hour yoga teacher certifications. In 2016, drawn by its vibrant "Pura Vida" philosophy, Matea relocated to Costa Rica. In 2023, alongside her partner Acyuta, Matea realized her vision of melding traditional ashram living with the lush Costa Rican landscape. This center represents a modern take on ashram life, offering a blend of comfort and immersive spiritual experiences.
Acyuta is an accomplished meditation and asana expert with over two decades of experience in the realms of yoga philosophy and asana practice. His journey in yoga and mindfulness has taken him from ashram living to global teaching stints across diverse modalities. Currently, Acyuta is deeply engaged in studying Jyotish (Vedic astrology), exploring advanced Ayurvedic healing techniques, and mastering Indian Martial Arts. Beyond his spiritual pursuits, Acyuta is a skilled software engineer and marketing specialist, holding a RYT-200 yoga teacher certification. His extensive background in software development, accumulated through positions at leading US and EU companies, has equipped him to design a unique wellness entrepreneur course and provide mentorship to wellness professionals. Additionally, he teaches kriyas and breathwork, drawing insights from programs led by Sadhguru and Wim Hof. Alongside his partner, Matea, he is also instrumental in developing the Yoga Ashram Costa Rica, creating a sanctuary that merges traditional yogic practices with modern living.
