THIS TWO DAY CLASS IS FOR EXPERIENCED, MULTI-PITCH TRAD CLIMBERS TO LEARN BASIC SKILLS NEEDED FOR GRADE V AND GRADE VI BIG WALLS (TECHNICAL ROCK CLIMBS THAT TAKE TWO OR MORE DAYS TO COMPLETE).
This is the perfect class for someone who has climbed some multi-pitch climbs but lacks the confidence and/or know-how to sleep on a wall. Learning to climb big walls can be overwhelming so this class breaks it down into three categories; leading (aid climbing), cleaning (ascending a rope) and hauling. Day one we go over the basics of each category and on day two we go deeper into each category learning all the technical skills needed.
We will cover the skills that you will need to:
clean-aid climb
haul
jumar
*Prerequisites have at least some experience on multi pitch climbs.

The majority of women come to our retreats alone - somewhere around 70%. If you are hesitating to join because you would be coming solo, know that you will not be "alone" and these retreats offer a wonderful sense of community, more so than any of our other courses...which, is why we love them!!
We generally have a wide range of ages at our retreats. The average age tends to fall between the ages of 25 to 55. But, we've had many participants from 13-late 60's join us!
Being a climbing school, teaching someone how to climb safely and confidently is what we do best!
We have a very strict cancellation policy.
We do our best to choose dates where this won't be an issue, but it's always a possibility. If we cannot go climbing, we will propose alternative activities such as technical skills lessons like anchor building, rappelling, multi-pitch clinics, or hiking.
If you're worried about the weather ruining your experience, we suggest buying "cancel for any reason" trip protection as we will not be providing any refunds due to weather-related issues.
Unfortunately, we cannot allow pets on any of our group trips or clinics.
We base our decision on this with fluidity. Our guides will determine whether or not they will allow leading based on participants' prior experience, routes available for leading, and mock leading competency. If this is a skill you want to learn on the retreat, communicate with your guides and they will try to get you some chances to learn the art of leading during the retreat.
