About
About The Host

The new luxury camp reopened in January 2011 at which point there were 11 modern chalets and the core restaurant was almost completed. Plans were afoot to continue the redevelopment with further new rooms and other facilities, however, the Arab Spring uprising, unfortunately, skippered these good intentions.

As there was zero tourism in Egypt, with all but the UK canceling flights, the owner decided to close the camp. Pharaoh Dive Club at this point saw the real potential of the new concept camp and agreed with the owner to take over the operation of the luxury camp. Several years later the situation remains unchanged and their faith in the potential has proven well-founded.

As the country recovered stability and the visitor numbers increased, the refurbishment program was re-established.
