5 Days, Multiple Departures
El Cuyo is a beach lovers' dream. The tourists haven’t heard about it yet so you’ll have the beach and the town to yourself for the most part (shhhhhhhh) and the calm waters in the morning make it perfect for heading out on the flat waters to glide on your Standup Paddleboard or kayak or to just go for a beautiful morning stroll along the edge of the clear, emerald waters. We will practice yoga daily in our beachfront studio and our adorable guesthouse is steps from the sea making it the perfect escape to rest, reset, and rejuvenate! The perfect balance of doing and restoring. We’ve included all the highlights of the area plus a pampering massage with our local healer plus a mud ceremony in front of the sea.
This perfect mini-retreat escape consists of 4 nights over a long weekend to reset and rejuvenate the body, mind and spirit. Each day guests will enjoy a 75 minute yoga practice, beach walks, bike rides, standup paddle boarding and sea kayaks as well as 3 delicious meals per day. Accommodations at the gorgeous Utopia El Cuyo : Beach house & Yoga studio will be our home base as we take a few days off to rest and reconnect.
Wild virgin beaches at your front door; open-air yoga practices with a view; delicious local cuisine to nourish the body; connection with nature to nourish the soul. Round out your days with an adventure into these Mayan lands. Explore the amazing pink lagoons of Las Coloradas, visit flamingos in their natural habitat, check out the town by bike, hop on a SUP or a kayak early morning when the sea is still to glimpse those first morning rays of sunshine peaking over the horizon. Learn how to make tamales, sip margaritas, bask in the sunshine and swim in the Emerald Coast. Our optional day trip into the Yucatan Peninsula will take us to the colonial city of Valladolid, the ruins of Ek Balam and a breathtaking cenote to cool off after a day of exploring. We have our incredible massage therapist with us to offer a healing massage in our open air studio and we wrap it all up with a mud ceremony to cleanse and refresh your body and soul.
El Cuyo has our hearts and the world is starting to tune in. Come experience this unspoiled paradise before the droves hit!

We have detailed the airport locations with each retreat. Please check individually as to the best location and the shared shuttle transportation we have set up for each retreat. If you need to arrive outside of these times we can arrange for a private transfer for you.
Yes, all locations require a valid passport for entry. Visa expenses are outlined individually if they exist. Please make sure to read carefully and to check that your passport is valid for 6 months after you plan to return home.
Please check with each retreat for the shared shuttle service we have arranged for arrival and departure. If you need to have a service outside of these allotted times we can help to arrange a private transfer for you.
Most check-in times are around 3:00 pm and check-out times are 12:00 noon.
Yes, all of our locations have power available 24/7. You will be able to find charging areas throughout the properties and make sure you have an adaptor (or two) for locations outside of your home country. Please leave any appliances like hair dryers, curling irons, etc at home as their load is most times too much for some of our locations. If you are able to use a hair dryer the properties we have chosen will provide one for your use anyway to lighten your load!
Please check with us for individual retreats and accommodation details if this is a concern. Most places don’t require AC while we are visiting and we enjoy the open air for a change anyway!
Most hotels have a safe place to keep your valuables but we recommend leaving any valuable jewelry, etc at home just to be sure. All our locations are very safe places to visit but good common sense is always required when traveling (and living!). You don’t want any extra tan lines anyway!
Yes, wireless internet access is available at most hotels in reception and in the rooms.
All hotels we recommend have delicious food served at their restaurants. If you have any dietary needs please let us know in advance so we can make sure to have whatever it is that you need!
Yes, all fruits and vegetables are carefully washed in purified water and all necessary precautions are taken when handling food.
Yes, filtered water is provided in the rooms and at the restaurants of most hotels. All of the water, ice and beverages are prepared using filtered water and are completely safe. Please plan to stay well hydrated on all trips by drinking tons of purified water.
Yes, our hotels do offer alcoholic beverages. Alcohol is not included with any of our packages (unless otherwise noted in Wine & Wellness packs).
While we cannot predict the weather, we have chosen our locations and times of the year for their fair weather. It is always a good idea to have a light sweater and long pants for chilly nights. I usually wear something like that on the plane anyway so using that as your warmer clothing is a great option. Several of our locations are quite windy so a light scarf if a good idea to have handy.
If for any reason you may need a doctor the reception of your hotel will be able to call one in for you or point you in the right direction. Please be sure to bring any medications that you normally take as foreign countries do not carry the same brands and navigating the pharmacy in another language can be tricky. If you are on regular medication we require that you inform us of dosage and regularity and suggest that you continue to take any medication while on your retreats with us. If you have any allergies we also require a description so we can be aware. All medical information will be kept confidential and is only used to keep you safe and in case of emergency.
