Open since 1998 and located on a small private island off the coast of Panama (Central America), it is a paradise worth discovering! The surf camp is actually two islands. One being the big island and then a smaller outer island. The big island has the living accommodations. Private cabanas are on a hill overlooking the Pacific Ocean, each with your own hammock for that afternoon siesta. Water is supplied by a freshwater spring used for drinking and showering. There are left breaks and right breaks. Beginner breaks, experienced breaks, and advanced surfer breaks. If you're looking for adventure, fun, and surfing, this is the place to visit.

About

Pickup and return from Guabala, food, lodging at a surf camp or Puerto Yurre, and daily boat trips for surfing, snorkeling, or fishing.

A stay starts on a Saturday airport arrival day and ends on a Saturday airport departure day. You will have 6 full surfing days. Extra days can be purchased for $107. Friday airport arrival is one extra day and Sunday airport departure is one extra day.

3 meals per day and two daily boat trips to three different islands with over 10 different surf breaks. Also, there is an excellent sandbar break located directly in front of the surf camp.

There's also diving, snorkeling, nightly ping pong games, fishing, ocean kayaking, hiking, exploring, or just relaxing in a hammock. In the evening, you can review your daily surf session on the camp TV-DVD (bring your camcorder).

On the island, there is also a variety of wildlife, including monkeys, sea turtles at times, many types of birds, parrots, and even wild deer.

Hotel stay in Panama City, Taxi, Bus, or surf lessons.

All persons will arrive at the airport in Panama City. We will meet you at the airport, and transport you directly to the bus station for your 5-6 hour bus trip. The bus will drop you off at a customs check point called Guabala, where our driver will meet you to transport you to the port of Yurre. Upon arrival at the port, our boat will be waiting to take you to the island which is about 5 miles offshore (unless it is after dark or the tide is too low).

Food

You will be served three meals per day with a variety of dishes made from fish, chicken, shrimp, tropical fruits, etc. We can accommodate vegetarian diets.

Accommodation

Accommodations are rustic but comfortable. Cabins are 150 feet from a fresh water river flowing into the ocean. Evening typically have a cool breeze blowing.

The weather is tropical, so all you need is your trunks, warm water wax and a lot of sunscreen. Reef shoes are a good idea for coral and rock breaks. If you snorkel or fish, bring your gear. (fishing is world class).

A reservation requires a deposit of 14% of the total price. The deposit is non-refundable, if the booking is cancelled, the rest of the payment should be paid on arrival.

Citizens of the U.S.A. must have a valid passport. There is no visa requirement.
