8 Days, Multiple Departures
A point-to-point run on Patagonia’s Eberhard Fjord. Run the trails of Laguna Sofia for the very best views of Torres Del Paine National Park, world renown for its mountains, bright blue icebergs and golden grasslands, with a finish at the prehistoric caves of Cueva del Milodon. A guided trek on Glacier Grey, southern Patagonia’s most iconic glacier with the most spectacular, glowing blue views of your life. Nights spent eating Chilean barbecue from our stunning private mountaintop lodges.
In Patagonia’s untamed wilderness, trail runners find their rhythm between glacial lakes and jagged peaks where guanacos roam freely beneath the towering spires of Torres del Paine. Each day brings new wonders – from crossing swaying suspension bridges above glowing blue glaciers to sailing through fjords dotted with ancient ice – before nights in remote mountain lodges where Andean condors soar past your window.
Each person on our small, multinational team brings a unique set of running abilities, travel experience, and guiding expertise to the table, but something that we all have in common is an addiction to exploration, a borderline obsession with running, and a love of helping others experience the world in this very unique way. Our guides are certified Wilderness First Responders, practice Leave No Trace principles, and have guided well over 200 running trips combined. When you join a trip you’ll be traveling, running, and exploring with at least one (if not 2 or 3) of us.
The name Patagonia alone evokes feelings of wonder and awe, and the reality doesn’t disappoint! Few places offer such wild, raw beauty, and our running tour gives you a chance to get up close and personal with this majestic landscape.
The trails are quiet, endless, and downright spectacular. You’ll witness glaciers, waterfalls, golden meadows, and turquoise lakes while running in Patagonia. The relaxed pace of life and the invigorating climate make you feel truly alive.
In other words… why wouldn’t you choose a Patagonia run tour?
For the best Patagonia running tour experience, we recommend being comfortable with at least a 7-mile (11 km) trail run. Most days offer flexible distances, but one day requires a 7-mile point-to-point run/hike as there are no roads to our destination. You’ll have all day to cover this distance, but you must be capable of doing so on foot.
This is primarily a trail running tour! Expect a mix of dirt/gravel roads, smooth single track, and some technical mountain trails. We have zero miles of running on paved roads. Your paces will likely be slower than on roads, and you may need to hike some steep or technical sections.
For the best experience, we recommend some trail running preparation before your Patagonia run tour. Trail shoes are highly recommended!
Run times will vary depending on our itinerary. We incorporate morning runs as much as possible, though there will be some afternoon start times.
Flexibility is key for making the most of your Patagonia running adventure!
Your Patagonia run tour includes epic scenery viewing from various boats, wildlife spotting, glacier trekking, learning about traditional ranch life at the estancias, and scenic drives with well-timed rest/photo stops.
Be ready to embrace a slower pace of life, enjoying long meals, gorgeous views, and conversations with new friends.
We generally don’t recommend this trip for non-runners/hikers. They would need to be willing to hike 7 miles (11 km) in one day, as there’s no road access to our accommodation.
The schedule is primarily structured around the planned runs. Contact us to discuss whether this Patagonia run tour is suitable for your non-runner companion.
Patagonian weather is notoriously unpredictable – you might experience all four seasons in one day! Expect a mix of beautiful, sunny weather, rain, and strong winds. January & February temperatures typically range from 50-70°F (10-21°C) highs and 40s°F (4-9°C) lows.
We’ll provide a detailed packing list to ensure you’re prepared for all conditions during your Patagonia running tour.
