Sept 27 to Oct 10, 2025
We mapped out this trip that promises adventurous day, a fusion of cultural and wildlife encounters + yoga amongst jaw-dropping landscapes.
Our epic journey starts in Kigali, the vibrant heartbeat of Rwanda. Dive headfirst into the city's vibrant tapestry, absorbing the energy of the Rwandan culture. Our first trek will start in the serene Volcanoes National Park in search of Golden Monkeys. The park is situated in the Virunga Mountains, a stunning volcanic range that straddles the borders of Rwanda, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The park's lush rainforests, towering volcanoes, and mist-shrouded peaks offer a unique and unforgettable experience for nature lovers, wildlife enthusiasts, and adventurers alike, making it a must-visit destination in Rwanda. But hold onto your hats, because the real adventure is just beginning…
As we cross the border into Uganda, get ready for a primate trekking experience that will leave your heart racing and your spirit soaring. The thrill of tracking down gorillas and chimpanzees in their natural habitat is nothing short of electrifying. Even though trekking is one of my favourite experiences here, this country stole my heart with her breathtaking landscapes, incredible wildlife encounters, warm hospitality and adventurous activities.
But the adrenaline doesn't stop there. We'll rev up our 4x4 Safari Landcruiser and point our compass towards Kenya, the land of legendary safaris. Brace yourself for the safari of a lifetime as we traverse the untamed wilderness of Masai Mara, boasting the African big five (lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard, and rhinoceros), as well as cheetahs, hyenas, giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, and numerous species of antelope and birdlife. And picture this: a hot-air balloon ride at dawn, drifting above the majestic savannah, witnessing the awakening of Africa's iconic wildlife beneath you. It's the stuff dreams are made of…
If you hunger for adventure, if the call of the wild beckons, this road trip is your ticket to uncharted realms. Over the course of 2600 heart-pounding kilometers, we'll not only rack up miles but also create indelible memories that will etch themselves into your soul, lasting a lifetime. Join us, and let's chase adventure on the road less traveled.

“Thank you for another wonderful retreat. I love the experiences that come each day. A colleague asked why I like going to Africa, and for me its easy. I love that I can lie in bed at night and hear lions, hippos, hyena, jackals etc, that is why I love being out in the bush. I love your Namibia, and hope to return again for another visit. The tented lodge was amazing, and I would love to go back, especially when the elephants were passing through, what a life experience that would be. Victoria Falls was both soul cleansing and heart opening for me. I was so drawn into the beauty and power it brought me to tears! Thanks again and keep me on your mailing list. I would love to see more and experience more of Namibia. Blessings and many thanks”

There is also no set route to visit the gorillas. They move around of their own free will, so the amount of time it will take to visit them can vary from under an hour to almost a full day depending on where they are and how long it takes the trackers to locate them.
Due to trekking through the dense forests in search of Chimpanzee and Gorilla, and trekking time taking anything from 2-8 hours, a fairly good level of fitness is required. Walking sticks can be hired at the park headquarters if needed.

Notwithstanding any damages that You might incur, it is understood that Activ Retreats is not an insurer, that insurance if any shall be obtained by You and that if Activ Retreats should be found liable for any loss, damage or injury relating to the Service, its likability shall be limited to a sum equal to the cost YOU paid to Activ Retreats.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties or limitation of liability for incidental or consequential damages, which means that some of the above limitations may not be deemed to apply. In these jurisdictions, each party's liability will be limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.
By using our marketplace, the Host agrees to defend and hold harmless Activ Retreats, its affiliates, employees, agents, contributors, third party content providers, insurers and licensors from any third-party actions, claims, demands, liabilities, costs, expenses (including legal fees), losses, or damages that arise from a Host’s content, use of our Services or the Retreat.
It is further agreed that should You cause any damages, whether direct or indirect, to the HOST that you shall indemnify and hold harmless Activ Retreats from any and all claims, damages, losses, demands, liabilities, costs and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your negligence, whether by conduct or omission, during the Retreat.
The Service is provided to You "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE". Without limitation to the foregoing, the Company provides no warranty, and makes no representation of any kind that the Service will meet Your requirements, achieve any intended results.
Without limiting the foregoing, neither the Company nor any of the company's provider makes any representation or warranty of any kind, express or implied: (i) as to the operation, availability and experience of the Service; or (ii) that the Service, its servers, the content, or e-mails sent from or on behalf of the Company are free of viruses, scripts, trojan horses, worms, malware, timebombs or other harmful components.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain types of warranties on applicable statutory rights of a consumer, so some or all of the above exclusions and limitations may not apply to You. But in such a case the exclusions and limitations set forth in this section shall be applied to the greatest extent enforceable under applicable law.
Our Services and any contract arising therefore shall be construed in accordance with the laws of California and you irrevocably submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of California.
If You have any concern or dispute about the Service, You agree to first try to resolve the dispute informally by contacting the Company. Any dispute, conflict or controversy howsoever arising out of or broadly in connection with or relating to this Agreement, including those relating to its validity, its construction or its enforceability, shall be first mandatorily submitted to mediation proceedings. If such dispute has not been settled within sixty (60) days after a request for mediation has been submitted, the matter can proceed to the Courts of California.

If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable or invalid, such provision will be changed and interpreted to accomplish the objectives of such provision to the greatest extent possible under applicable law and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
Except as provided herein, the failure to exercise a right or to require performance of an obligation under these Terms shall not affect a party's ability to exercise such right or require such performance at any time thereafter nor shall the waiver of a breach constitute a waiver of any subsequent breach.
