"I had a truly amazing time in Medellín!! Everything was perfectly organized!! I really loved my dance teachers (Miguel and Laura <3) and also the group dance classes were sooo much fun!! <3 The immersion was rounded off perfectly with the dinner and visit to the radio station.

"I recently had the pleasure of taking a 1-week salsa immersion class in Medellin. Not only was the quality of the salsa classes top-notch, but the overall experience offered by Alejandra and her team at Somolocos was nothing short of exceptional.

Upon selecting Somolocos, I was a bit apprehensive that i would end up in either a beginner's, or an expert's class. However, going with the option of having private teachers was undoubtedly the best decision you can make. They assess your current skill level and begin to build on it, regardless of your level or style. Sebastian and Louisa, my instructors, were truly outstanding. They were patient, motivating, and you can feel the passion they have for salsa making the learning process an absolute joy.

For me, what sets this experience apart is that it went beyond just dance lessons. Outside of our private classes, Sebastian and the other instructors took us on a journey to explore the vibrant salsa scene in Medellin. Nights out in local salsa bars allowed us to witness the city's rich culture and experience different salsa styles firsthand. But the immersion didn't stop there; they also arranged dinners with local families, put us live "on-air" on one of the primary salsa radio stations, and included dinners on the town with locals making you feel at home in Medellin.

The improvement in my salsa skills over the course of just one week was remarkable, and if I were to rate solely based on that, it would easily be a 5-star review. However, what truly made this trip unforgettable was the complete immersion into Medellin's culture, energy, and the friendliness of its people. The experience felt authentic and genuine, making me fall in love with the city and its vibrant atmosphere.

I can't thank Alejandra and the entire team at Somolocos enough for curating such a unique and unforgettable experience. I will cherish the memories and skills gained during this trip, and I am already looking forward to returning to Medellin for another round of salsa, culture, and unforgettable moments.

"Salsa lessons, well organized from A to Z. Good information in advance. Airport reception punctually arranged. Well situated beautiful hotel location with extensive gym and (coffee) bar.
I didn't know any steps of the salsa dance, so I built up with a lot of patience from the beginning by motivated, always smiling, involved dance teachers.
Also received information about the history of salsa as well as detailed explanation about the rhythm (finding the one ;-))
On some of the evenings we practiced in the Salsa clubs with the trusted instructors.
Nice contact with the European and American fellow students. Also did fun (intensive) yoga classes.
In Medellin you can enjoy good food and walking, there are various excursions to do. One week was great and actually too short. I want to go back again ..."

By attending the salsa immersion I agree that during the salsa immersion and/or during any other adventurous or active pursuits or trips in which I will participate under the arrangements of our agents, and subcontractors, certain risks and dangers may arise, including, but not limited to, risks inherent in sporting activities, risks inherent to COVID-19 infection, and risks inherent in traveling and spending time in a foreign country.

The host, and its agents and subcontractors shall not be responsible for any injuries, damages, or losses caused to any traveler in connection with any of the above activities, social or labor unrest, mechanical or construction failures or difficulties, diseases, local laws, climatic conditions, abnormal conditions or developments, viral pandemics, or any other actions, omissions, or conditions outside the travel operator’s control. In addition, I acknowledge that I have voluntarily applied to participate on the chosen trip itinerary and my signing this form constitutes acceptance of the agreed upon travel arrangements as well as my obligation to pay for these arrangements. The host has established Core Values and a Code of Conduct to ensure our community remains a safe, respectful, and welcoming space. These principles guide all the host's activities and apply to everyone within the community. We openly share these values and the Code of Conduct, encouraging all participants to review them.

Code of Conduct Violations:

You will violate our Code of Conduct if you:

Actions Contrary to the Law:
1. Undertake, plan, or advocate illegal activities causing personal injury or property damage.
2. Post or distribute materials that infringe upon any third-party rights or violate any laws.
3. Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with them.
4. Administer substances to another person without their knowledge.

Creating an Unsafe or Harassing Environment: 
1. Engage in any sexual contact without explicit affirmative consent (only "yes" means yes).
2. Defame, abuse, harass, harm, threaten others, or make discriminatory, bigoted, hateful, or offensive statements.
3. Harassment includes offensive comments regarding age, race, ethnicity, ability, religion, national origin, physical appearance, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression.
4. Engaging in intimidation, stalking, harassment through photography or recording, and causing disruptions during events.
5. Unwanted physical contact, sexual attention, threats of physical harm, or encouraging such behavior.

Actions Impacting Participation:
1. Deviating from planned group programming and itinerary.
2. Failing to follow Activity application/registration requirements or providing false information.
3. Ignoring Activity requirements, procedures, policies, regulations, or instructions.
4. Engaging in excessive alcohol or substance use.
5. Allowing unauthorized access to our Activities.
6. Using community members' information for purposes other than Activity-related.
7. Making false accusations or statements regarding Code of Conduct violations.

Reporting Violations:

We encourage everyone to report harmful acts, harassment, or misconduct against community members, participants, or event attendees. Reporting an incident will not lead to an unsafe or unwelcome environment, and we will not tolerate retaliation against those reporting in good faith.

During an Immersion Hosted by the host:
1. Message the host team on WhatsApp to report harassment.
2. The host team will promptly address the incident, possibly involving another staff member for proper management. Depending on the case, security, local law enforcement, or support services may be called upon to ensure safety.

At Any Time:.
1. Provide detailed information, including individuals involved, location, time, and other pertinent details.
2. The Incident Intake Officer will respond, gather information, and act accordingly. In emergencies, immediate action will be taken.

Consequences for Code of Conduct Violations:

If we determine a violation has occurred, we may take various actions:

1. Direct the offender to cease their behavior, issuing a warning of further sanctions.
2. Require the offender to avoid contact and physical proximity to the complainant.
3. Mandate the offender's immediate departure from the Activity without a refund.
4. Impose temporary or permanent bans from host Activities, including communication platforms.
5. Remove the offender from our community.

Host staff will inform both the offender and reporting person (and other involved individuals, if appropriate) of the resolution and record the outcome.

Violations will not be tolerated within our community. Offenders must comply with corrective actions immediately. Staff and facilitators may take appropriate measures, including temporary bans or permanent expulsion from the host Community.

This Code of Conduct is a general guideline of our expectations for all involved in our Activities. We may establish additional rules, expectations, or consequences as needed. Questions about our Code of Conduct can be directed the host.
