Enjoy some well-deserved time to yourself and reconnect with the elements. This retreat has been designed to allow you to de-stress and reconnect, as well as experience something new. Immerse yourself in Guatemalan culture and join us in the making of a Semana Santa alfombra, as well as an afternoon of painting Easter eggs.

Each full retreat day you will receive two yoga classes consisting of aerial yoga and/or hatha yoga (half days include one class), as well as other forms of connecting with yourself. Simple and delicious vegetarian meals are supplied three times a day, which are part of your retreat package. If advised in advance, we can accommodate nut allergies and dairy-free diets.

On our last night, we will enjoy a special dinner followed by a bonfire, to roast some marshmallows! This yoga retreat is a wonderful opportunity to connect with yourself and let you disconnect from your otherwise busy life. Take the time to engage with nature in the Land of Eternal Spring and do something different instead of stressing about cooking or family.

The retreat starts on the arrival afternoon (arrival between 2pm and 4pm). However, early arrivals may leave their luggage and find their way to our local café. There will be a welcome and orientation before your first yoga session at 5pm.

For the moment, our accommodation is located in the main venue, Jardín Campo Alegre. In Campo Alegre, we have 5 beautiful little cabañas with individual ensuite bathrooms, giving you the space you need. There will be two asana (posture) based classes each full day, consisting of aerial yoga and Hatha yoga. Friday's itinerary will vary.

On Wednesday and Thursday, we will spend the afternoon with coffee/tea and Easter egg painting and/or the making of a labyrinth. You cannot miss Semana Santa in Antigua Guatemala, especially being as close as you will be during our retreat. That's why, on our last day, Friday, after a quick breakfast at 8:00 AM (please have your things ready to check out of the rooms), we will take you to the Colonial City of Antigua.

In La Antigua, you'll be able to explore and see the famous carpets and processions. On this day, there will be no morning class. After exploring the streets of Antigua, we will stop for a quick light lunch before heading to our friends’ place, Los Colores De La Tierra, to join them in the making of one of these magical carpets.

You will finish your journey on the last day in the afternoon at your leisure.

When I talk about yoga and aerial I am not talking about fitness but a way of life.

To me, as to many other yogis, yoga is a way of life, a living philosophy of mind, body and spirit. It is about learning to reconnect with one's body and listening to its needs and limitations, to be at home and fully whole in and of oneself.

Yoga is not about bending one's body into a pretzel and looking funky in a pose but about your overall well-being and we all work within our own bodies. We all have different strength and weaknesses and in yoga we try to find the balance. Practicing asana in particular is about doing right by one's own body and mind regardless of how "fit" one is otherwise.

I teach a variety of styles that are not just asana (posture) based. In order to connect body and soul, the subtle practices of mantra chant, pranayama (breathwork) and meditation all need to be part of the yoga practice.

However I equally teach them as separate entities for deeper immersion and understanding.
