Outstanding, stylish accommodation
Named one of the Top 12 Ethical Hideaways, Harper's Bazaar describes Tigmi as "a blissed-out haven that mixes style with substance". With its view of an ancient kasbah and its backdrop of snow-capped peaks, you would never know this rustic chic retreat is just 15 miles from the buzz of Marrakech.
The rooms are all very generously sized, with traditional Berber woven tapestries on the beds, and locally made natural products in the bathrooms. The beds are large and comfortable, and the walk-in showers are simply designed and spacious. Fluffy towels and robes are provided, and each room features a seating area for quiet moments. With their thick walls, the rooms stay naturally cool even in summer, though air conditioning is provided. And for any chilly nights, they’ll come and light a log fire in your room - magical!
Take it slow with mouthwatering meals on the terrace
Take your time after yoga with the delicious buffet breakfasts. They offer everything you could wish for, all kinds of cereals, eggs, breads, fresh fruits, stewed fruits, nuts, local honey and homemade yoghurt along with the best freshly squeezed orange juice we've ever tasted.
Lunch is a leisurely affair too. A fabulous array of salads is laid out for you to graze at as and when you drag yourself along from the pool. They use really fresh ingredients prepared with great care to make a wide variety of healthy and delicious treats.
And in the evening a sit-down 3-course dinner! The chefs prepare a set menu that tends to fuse traditional dishes with a touch of French cuisine. Bread and delicious dips to start, perhaps Moroccan spiced pastry parcels to follow, and dishes like tagine or fresh fish for mains, and it’s with dessert that they seem to particularly raid the French style - with divine chocolate or fruit-based treats. Wine, beer, and other alcoholic drinks are available as extras for those who would like them, you can just charge them to your room. Vegan and vegetarian diets are also catered for very well, just let us know any preferences in advance on your booking form.

Is a yoga holiday for me?
Our holidays are ideal for everyone who wants to spend time learning or developing their yoga practice and would like to do so in beautiful, peaceful locations with some of the world's best teachers.
You can expect a great holiday: fabulous location; great food; some sun perhaps; fun activities, or time to just relax; good company and new friends; plus, lots of yoga!
Yoga gives you not only a better connection with your own body, but it will also helps you to better know your own mind. By the end of your trip, you'll be feeling relaxed, revived, and spiritually and physically healthier.
What type of yoga will be taught?
Our teachers teach yoga from a range of schools in different but the thing that unites them is that it will always be heartfelt, professional and delivered with a lightness of touch.
Many of our teachers have studied with the Vajrasati school of yoga.
Vajrasati is one of the most respected and thorough yoga teacher training courses in the UK.
Vajrasati Yoga aims to implicitly and explicitly explore the yoga teachings of Patanajali, the Buddha, Non-Dual Saiva Tantra and other great Indian teachers/teachings in a non-abstract experiential way, most commonly this is done in the school through bodywork that is recognizable to anyone who has come across a Modern Postural Yoga class (most studio classes come under this category).
Vajrasati is defined more by its approach than by a particular technique; teachers use asana, pranayama, mantra and mudra as a means to lead students towards moksha or liberation as described in the fourth section of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras. Vajrasati emphasizes a sense of spacious awareness to the body, which facilitates subtlety, suppleness and connection of body and mind.
Other teachers practice Jivamukti yoga. Jivamukti is a powerful and structured yoga practice.
As well as a strong, dynamic physical practice, Jivamukti embraces an explicit spiritual and ethical ideology. Expect opening chants, dynamic, vinyasa-based sequences practiced to music, reflection upon the relevance of yoga philosophy to modern life, and a delicious closing meditation or relaxation.
The intended purpose of Jivamukti yoga is to remind us of the original aim of yoga, which is to provide a practitioner with a path towards enlightenment. Jivamukti yoga intertwines a holistic approach to living into every class, encouraging compassion for all living beings as a means of achieving grace.
Will I be okay if I’m a beginner?
All our teachers cater to all levels of experience. We expect a wide range of yoga experience on each trip. Whatever your level you will be well catered for and looked after and will have the opportunity to develop your practice in positive ways.
Who will I be holidaying with?
Typically our groups are a mixture of men and women (though the women tend to outnumber the men), with a large number of guests travelling on their own but with some travelling as couples or with friends. Ages have ranged from 17 to 89 with a fair amount of 30 and 40 somethings.
We expect a wide range of yoga experience on each week. We anticipate that all groups will be made up of fun, friendly, like-minded people who will quickly feel at ease with each other and make firm friendships during the week.
What does a typical day look like?
There will usually be two sessions of yoga each day, one in the morning and one in the evening. Each session will last about 1.5 - 2hrs, depending on group and venue. The time between classes is free to do as you please. We do arrange things to do and can arrange more, but if you just want to take some time out, lounge around and read a book, then that's fine too. We want you to get exactly what you want, and what you need from you trip. Perhaps you need to relax and sleep more, or perhaps you want to join your host and yoga teacher, surfing, scuba diving, jungle-trekking or taking a long walk down a deserted beach. The choice really is up to you.
Do I get to see anything of local interest?
Of course, there are options for everybody. Our selected venues are beautiful, but naturally while on holiday we'd expect guests to want to visit areas of local interest. There is plenty of time for exploring. We can help you organise a trip out to some of the 'must see' nearby destinations. Local taxi fares are usually pretty reasonable, but please note that it's not included in the cost of your trip.
Do I need travel insurance?
Yes, travel insurance is compulsory for all bookings.
What if I have special dietary requirements?
We can accommodate most dietary requirements; there is space on the booking form to detail specific requirements
