What To Expect
Over five days and four nights (Wednesday through Sunday), the retreat will take place in Marble Falls, Texas (within an hour from the Austin airport), guided by trauma-informed practitioners with over 10 years each of experience facilitating women’s recovery retreats.
You are invited to explore, amongst free ranging horses, the forty-six-acre ranch nestled in the hill country of Austin, Texas. You can shake out the issues in your tissues with yoga & dance, revel in playfulness and curiosity, take to the trails on foot or horseback, commune with goats, chickens, honey bees, and other farm animals, walk the meditation labyrinth, luxuriate in the plunge pools, hot tub, sauna, or simply lounge in a hammock. Rest and renew in nature. Nourish yourself with delicious food and good company, and share your heart fireside with other women who make you feel heard, seen, and supported. And, gather with like-hearted souls in ceremony with the intention to thrive in recovery.
The retreat creates endless possibilities for every woman.
Payton, Cybele, and Nancy
Along with her roles as coach and yoga teacher, Payton is the creator of a transformative guided movement experience that promotes self-awareness, body liberation, freedom, joy, and empowerment.
Payton has been organizing, hosting, and facilitating retreats for recovering women and non-binary individuals since 2018 in various locations such as Sedona, Arizona, the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico, Salt Spring Island on the West Coast of Canada, and York Harbor, Maine. Her innate ability to create a welcoming and authentic space for embodied movement, coupled with her warm and grounding presence and extensive background in event planning, makes her a truly gifted facilitator.
Cybele is an International Coaching Federation Professional Certified Coach, a Coach, a Mother Hunger Trained Facilitator, and she holds a Master’s Degree in Education with over forty years of teaching experience.
Cybele’s coaching practice supports self-identified women and nonbinary people who identify with women’s communities to look inside and connect with their most tender, truest selves. She coaches individuals and offers online classes, courses, and workshops on Mother Hunger, reparenting, and inner child work. She also leads REPARENT — a unique group coaching experience.
As a facilitator, Nancy draws upon her extensive coach training and personal experiences with childhood trauma, substance use, a failed suicide attempt, and cancer survival when helping women shift their mindsets and behaviors to change the trajectory of their lives.
Her funny, compassionate, and direct demeanor coupled with her expertise as an Equus Coach Master Facilitator will provide retreat goers with unique opportunities to heal with horses. Through playful, immersive experiences that utilize the wisdom and gentleness of horses, Nancy will help attendees identify energetic/behavioral patterns, limiting beliefs/blocks, and what it takes to move beyond them to a place of embodied self-awareness.
These retreats are designed for women and non-binary individuals who are in or seeking recovery. Because our definition of recovery includes mental health issues, trauma, and substance use our recovery retreats are alcohol and drug free.
A detailed program will be provided closer to the retreat date. Mornings begin with trauma-informed yoga and a nourishing breakfast. Hiking and walking, using the cold dipping pools, walking the Labyrinth; opportunities for group and 1:1 coaching and additional Retreat Ranch programming such as massage and bodywork, are available to you during the day. Evening sharing circles, including around the fire and under the moon and stars, finish out the day!
Due to the presence of free-ranging animals, livestock dogs, and natural wildlife at The Retreat Ranch, it is not safe for any outside pets, including service animals, to enter the premises. No exceptions can be made due to safety concerns for all parties involved.
The roads/walking paths at the Retreat Ranch are made of dirt and crushed granite with uneven walking grounds and dust/mud (if raining). There are no ramps. This retreat venue is not recommended for anyone with significant mobility issues and/or physical limitations.
All of our recovery retreats help us to fulfill our mission and help us to provide accessible and free programming, resources, and support to women in or seeking recovery.
