Challenge yourself to a somewhat different holiday. 5 days/4 nights just outside Antigua in lovely Santa Lucia Milpas Altas.

These are private retreats to allow you to work at your own level. If you travel with a friend or two, we can accommodate up to 4 people.

This retreat is ideal for friends traveling together and individuals looking for a different experience.

This retreat is designed to focus on aerial arts and give the participants a taste of the different apparatuses during their stay. The retreat is designed more with beginners in mind, but intermediates are welcome as well.

These are physically demanding days but with a lot of fun. We complement the practice of the aerial arts with aerial and Hatha yoga twice a day.

The Retreat starts Sunday or Monday afternoon (arrival between 3 pm and 4 pm); however, early arrivals may leave their luggage and enjoy a delicious coffee at the local Café before joining us again.

There will be a welcome and orientation before your first aerial yoga session at 5 pm. On each full day, there will be two to three asana (posture) based classes consisting of aerial yoga and Hatha yoga.

The late morning will have you work hard in aerial fitness and then stretch it out in aerial yoga. Both are done in our aerial yoga hammocks, the most accessible of the aerial apparatuses, before heading for lunch.

In the afternoon, we will have our 90-minute workshops, directly followed by Hatha or Yin yoga to stretch out the sore muscles.

Unless you choose to focus only on one particular skill, we will start our first workshop with trapeze as it is the most similar to the hammock, moving on to the hoop the following day, and finishing off with the silks. Due to height restrictions, all our workshops are aimed at beginners to intermediates.

Dani

When I talk about yoga and aerial I am not talking about fitness but a way of life.

To me, as to many other yogis, yoga is a way of life, a living philosophy of mind, body and spirit. It is about learning to reconnect with one's body and listening to its needs and limitations, to be at home and fully whole in and of oneself.

Yoga is not about bending one's body into a pretzel and looking funky in a pose but about your overall well-being and we all work within our own bodies. We all have different strength and weaknesses and in yoga we try to find the balance. Practicing asana in particular is about doing right by one's own body and mind regardless of how "fit" one is otherwise.

I teach a variety of styles that are not just asana (posture) based. In order to connect body and soul, the subtle practices of mantra chant, pranayama (breathwork) and meditation all need to be part of the yoga practice.

However I equally teach them as separate entities for deeper immersion and understanding.
