Welcome to the Land of the Buddha
A land of towering peaks, fascinating wildlife, endless trails, prayer flags, charming villages, friendly locals, and an abundance of lentils and rice. It's a paradise for adventure seekers, enthusiasts of Buddhist and Hindu philosophy, lovers of simple living, nature aficionados, and yoga practitioners.
During this trip you will explore Kathmandu valley, the Himalaya’s and Chitwan National Park.
On The Mat
Yoga
We will practice yoga every day. Mostly in the morning, sometimes in the afternoon to stretch out after traveling and hiking. The program is filled with energizing vinyasa classes, soothing yin classes and guided meditations.
Off The Mat
Hiking
We will walk the Tamang Heritage Trail. This trek will take us deep into the area of the Tamang people, a Tibetan ethnic group of Nepal. For 6 days we will walk through rural Buddhist villages, valleys and wild rivers with views over the Langang range & Ganesh Himalaya. We will live & eat with the Tamang people and sleep in their villages.
Safari
After the hike we head to Chitwan National Park where we will channel our inner Mowgli while looking for elephants, rhinos, crocodiles, and if you are lucky a Bengal tiger. We will also take time to rest and recover from our hike.
Relax
We will implement enough moments for you to relax and restore, including 2 complete rest & acclimatization days during the hike.
Be Flexible
The unexpected is the norm in this country and despite our organization, the travel itinerary can not be taken for granted. Weather can be unpredictable, traffic difficulties or other factors may force us to make changes in our schedule. If this occurs, we will do everything in our power to minimize the effect of the changes.
Be Physically Prepared
This is a backpack trip that requires some level of fitness. During the hike you will carry your own backpack. There will be one porter with us to carry some supplies for the group. If you need a personal sherpa, please let us know so we can arrange this for you at an additional cost.
Over the last 8 years, our instructor has been sharing her knowledge and personal experiences as a yoga student and teacher in classes, workshops, as a primary teacher for YTTs in Bali, and during retreats in Spain and Portugal.
Make sure you have a travel insurance that covers your needs. Check with your current insurance if they cover the travel to Nepal. If not, then we recommend a temporary world travel insurance with your flight company so your flight is covered in case of cancellation or other reasons. We are not responsible for any travel related issues like delayed flights/missed flight, visas, illness, accidents, death, theft or loss of material.
You will be able to purchase a visa on arrival at the airport. This process is very simple and you do not need to do anything in advance, except for having a valid international passport and 2 passport pictures. Read all official information here: https://www.immigration.gov.np...
We will meet on Day 1 in Kathmandu. Exact hour and location is TBA.
Not at all! All classes are accessible to everyone.
A certain level of physical fitness is required for the hiking part. We recommend you do a couple of hikes with the shoes that you will wear to make them comfortable to do the trek.
