Krav Maga is a Self Defense System designed for dealing with realistic violent attacks. It is used by the Israeli Military and Secret Service, using the strongest and most effective points of many styles of fighting, thus creating a unique and complete program. This is also a system that is continually evolving as does the threat of violence in the world we live in.

Krav Maga was created by Imi Lichtenfeld in the 1930s, this system evolved from a variety of styles such as Judo, Boxing, and Wrestling, and was taught to the local Jewish community in Bratislava to help protect them.

When the country of Israel was created in 1948, Imi was invited to become the head instructor of the Israeli defense force I.D.F.  Krav Maga has now become the main training system for all of the Israeli security services and has now been adopted worldwide by other intelligence and security forces.

We are now delighted to be able to offer this type of training to everyday people, to give them the confidence and security that comes from learning an effective form of self-defense.  Firstly students are taught about awareness and reading the situation before violence erupts. Hopefully through this type of training your intuition and self-awareness should help you avoid ending up in a bad situation.  However, if this cannot be avoided we will teach you the reality of a violent attack and give you the tools necessary to give you a real fighting chance in a violent conflict.

Your training will start by teaching you the basics of position and balance, reading body language and trying to talk yourself out of a situation before it starts.

Included in the price of your fitness holiday is collection and drop off at Tenerife South Airport.

Food:

It delights us to have teamed up with a local chef. She will prepare lunch & dinner and deliver it boxed up to the gym each day so you can eat as and when it suits you.

Our chef will prepare a wide variety of meals such as healthy curries, tasty salads, fish and meat dishes including vegetarian and vegan options. If you have any food allergies or intolerances please let us know in advance and we can cater for any dietary requirements.

Our meals are carefully planned, tasty & nutritious. We provide healthy, tasty meals designed to give maximum results but also fuel your body for intensive training.

Alongside these carefully planned meals, we will also provide you with breakfast cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt, eggs, bread and water. Please note as you are in your own apartment you will be responsible for preparing your own breakfast daily.

Private apartment accommodation:

Having a private apartment allows you the space you need to relax after your fitness classes. You can set your timetable for eating, sleeping, or just chilling out.

It’s great to be part of a group for training and socializing but it’s also important to have some time to yourself to reflect and recharge. Please note the apartment is booked is only booked for the clients on the reservation, it is not permitted to bring guests without prior arrangement as additional fees are due.

Each spacious apartment has a comfortable lounge with flat-screen satellite TV. There is a separate bedroom and a modern kitchen-diner which includes an oven, a kettle, and a microwave. Each apartment also has WIFI and a washing machine. As these are privately owned apartments and not a hotel please note that there is no maid service and you are responsible for keeping the apartment clean and tidy and disposing of any rubbish.

The complex offers an outdoor pool and sun terrace with views of the Atlantic Ocean.

Please bring a water bottle, suitable training gear such as trainers, a couple of pairs of shorts, sports bras for the girls, and training tops. Bring a towel to take to the gym as well a beach towel.

About The Host

The Host have spent several years creating the very best fitness holiday on the market. A group training holiday designed to help you lose weight, tone up or improve your current fitness levels. This is a complete Fitness Holiday that will not only help you shed weight but also kick-start a new healthier lifestyle. It does not matter if you are out of shape or unfit. The program is designed in such a way that it is suitable for everyone.

Each day you will be provided with two healthy, calorie-controlled meals that are ideal for training. The meals are prepared by an expert chef and can be eaten when you choose. Healthy, fresh ingredients are also provided for you to make your own breakfast.

The only thing you have to do is book a flight and then get out of bed each morning.


Itinerary

Daily training

Street fighting

You will learn to deal with typical street attacks such as punches and kicks in a variety of situations. Firstly you will learn to block straight punches such as jabs and crosses, and also how to defend against hooks and uppercuts as well as a variety of different types of kicks. You will then learn how to strike back using your hands, feet, elbows, and knees, with the idea that you should be able to finish a street fight as quickly and aggressively as possible so that you can escape safely.


Grabs and strangles

This will cover every aspects of grabs such as wrist, shirt or someone grabbing you by the hair. You will also learn to deal with a variation of strangle holds, such as one and two handed strangles from the front and back and also being violently strangled in a floor sitatuation.

Ground fighting

Whilst we try to avoid ending up on the ground as much as possible the reality is that most fights between men will end up on the ground, and the vast majority of attacks on women such as rape and sexual assault will also end up on the floor. You will learn how to fight and defend yourself on the floor and to finish the attack as fast as possible to allow you to get back up onto your feet.

Static knife attacks

We will teach you how to defend against static attacks with a weapon such as muggings and robberies from various angles such as knife into the stomach, knife against the neck or a knife into the back from behind.


Direct knife attacks

This is dealing with extremely violent knife attacks such as stabs and slashes, you will first learn 360 degree blocking, and then realistic knife disarming techniques. So that hopefully you will survive a violent attack.

Stick attacks

You will practice defending against Blunt edge weapons such as a one handed attack with a stick to the head or a stick coming down from above or a two handed attack such as a baseball bat.

Gun disarming

This is slightly more advanced, and in reality for most people is highly unlikely that they will ever have a gun put to their head, but we fully believe that it is worth having the knowledge should you ever end up in the situation.

More than 14 days before departure: We can allow you to rebook subject to amendment fees and availability 14 days or less before departure: No refund is offered.

Terms and Conditions

Please read these booking conditions carefully as they are the sole terms and conditions of the contract between you and Activ Retreats for all bookings. A ‘booking’ refers to any confirmed invoice of reservation sent via email.

1. Your Booking
1a. Prices
– All prices listed are per person and are all in Euros unless otherwise stated.
– We reserve the right to change or amend prices at any time before you have booked.
– Once your booking has been made and we have received payment from yourself the prices are guaranteed and won’t change unless an amendment is made.

1b. Deposits and Payments
– Deposit payments are non-refundable and non-transferable.
– Your deposit secures the quoted price unless amendments are made to your booking.
– Your booking is only confirmed once you have received confirmation from Activ Retreats via email.
– Full payment must be received for all bookings no less than 3 weeks prior to departure.
– If full payment is not received by your payment due date, we reserve the right to cancel your booking at loss of deposit.

1c. Amendments
– Changes to a booking may be possible 14 days or more prior to departure but cannot be guaranteed.
– If amendments are possible, we will charge an amendment fee of 50 Euros per person.
– Any extra charges incurred from the supplier will be charged in addition to this.
– Amendments can only be made if the new dates are within 365 days of the original departure date.


2. Changes made by Activ Retreats
In the unlikely event that we need to significantly amend or cancel your holiday, you can choose from one of the following options:

  1. Book another available holiday from us; paying or receiving the difference in price.
  2. Cancelling your holiday with a refund

3. Travel Insurance
All persons under your booking must have travel insurance as Activ Retreats cannot be held responsible for any liability, losses, or expenses you may incur. We strongly advise comprehensive travel insurance that cover our policies for amendments or cancellation charges is purchased at the time of booking.

4. Our responsibility
Activ Retreats acts as a booking agent or as a principal on behalf of accommodation and cannot be held liable in any way if you or any person under the booking suffers from an illness, bodily harm, or death unless caused by our own negligence. We ensure the core elements of your holiday are to an acceptable standard as described for the corresponding booking at the time of book.

5. Your responsibility
Please remember that you are responsible for your actions and all members under your booking. If it is believed that any member of your party causes offence, distress, danger, damage or annoyance to other guests, staff or property, we may terminate your booking and holiday with immediate effect. Thereafter we will not take responsibility for any party member; our contract with you will be terminated and the full cost of the holiday forfeited without any compensation or refund or expenses you may incur. You should ensure that you have a valid passport and, as many countries require expiry dates on passports to be a considerable length of time after the return from holiday, we would recommend that your passport is valid for 6 months after the planned return date from your holiday.

6. Problems and complaints
If you have a complaint whilst you’re on holiday, please bring this our immediately so you have the best chance of resolving your issue; failure to do so may hinder any claim you wish you make on return.

Class schedules and the classes themselves are run by Activ Retreats, are example schedules only and are subject to variation.
