7 Days, Multiple Departures
This adventure, which has been carefully prepared by our team, begins on a Sunday and ends the following Sunday morning. During this unforgettable week, you will swim in the most beautiful places in the region, where the water varies from crystal clear dark blue to turquoise, and where you can explore the caves and natural arches of the cliffs – the Desertas Islands Nature Reserve, Ponta de São Lourenço and the Garajau Nature Reserve are just a few of these places.
This is a perfect experience for those who want to discover still little explored and peaceful areas in Portugal and enjoy the island's pleasant subtropical climate.
The accommodation is located in the heart of the Garajau Nature Reserve, whose bay also offers an excellent place for swimming.

Open water swimming or wild swimming consists of swimming outdoors, in nature, in seas, oceans, rivers, lakes, dams, etc.
The list of health benefits of sea water is immense. Swimming in colder waters is good for blood circulation and strengthens the immune system. On the other hand, regular swimming, especially long distances, tends to make people stronger and more agile.
It also helps mood and can be considered a natural medicine, as it promotes that incredible feeling of well-being that water sports practitioners know so well – outdoor swimming is even being tested as an alternative to medication for depression.
Naturally. Swimming outdoors is a unique experience, and you can have the privilege of being accompanied by wildlife and underwater landscapes that most swimmers don't have the opportunity to see. Our swimmers have had the pleasure of swimming with several species of fish, turtles, dolphins, rays, sea lions and even whales! At the bottom of the sea and on the rocks, you can also easily see sea stars, sea urchins, our limpets and the beautiful crabs of Madeira.
Our trips, which can last half a day or a full day, often involve beautiful walks to the place where the swimming experience will begin. Some activities also include lunch with the group and guides. On some tours we may have companions, following swimmers on kayaks or stand-up paddle boards (SUP), for example.
Our swimming training sessions are sessions lasting approximately one hour, individual or in groups, accompanied by an experienced guide and in some cases supported by a kayak or support boat.
Although the vast majority of our swimmers swim Crawl (freestyle), you can actually swim in whatever style you feel most comfortable in – breaststroke, backstroke and, if you are in shape, even butterfly.
Although distances are defined for each experience, swimmers are free to swim the distance that is most comfortable for them and/or adapt the experience to their abilities.
In the case of group experiences, although swimmers must have similar swimming levels, they can, at any time, climb into a kayak or support boat and, of course, take a break to rest or eat.
However, you will be surprised by the distances you will be able to swim in the end, in the company of the team, in absolutely magical locations.
