Breanne
Utilizing her decades of experience in the adventure travel and hospitality businesses, Breanne sought to create something fundamentally different. The company has continued to evolve inline with Breanne’s own mental health journey. The COVID travel pause provided the space for her to redefine the company with all that she learned along her own personal journey. Her history of PTSD, Dyslexia, and Depression continues to define her vision and leadership style as company CEO as she infuses vulnerability through all aspects of the company. Now with over two decades of experience in the industry she is confident that this work is exactly what has been missing from adventure travel.
Of course! In fact, we encourage it. Retreats are an incredible way to make new friendships. We will pair you with a person of your gender for lodging, or you can pay a single supplement if you want your own room.
Our local guides prioritize safety above all else. Our local operators are true professionals and work to mitigate the risks involved with our adventures. Regarding issues of civil unrest, crime, and other events, we are in constant contact with our local operators and will adjust trips if necessary. Fortunately, our destinations are often very far (like an airplane flight away!) from what you might hear on the nightly news.
Yes! We have a very educated staff able to modify the meals to your restrictions. I promise, these aren't the standard, here is a side of rice for dinner style substitutions.
We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance. It’s very affordable and can make a huge difference should the unexpected occur. Depending on the policy specifics, you’ll receive coverage for flight cancellations and delays, lost or stolen luggage, and medical care including evacuation back to the US, if necessary.
Yes, you will always be a provided with an English-speaking guide.
Once you secure your spot on the trip with your deposit, we can help you navigate flights and travel. We work with 3rd party travel companies to help with this, especially when it comes to international travel.
It’s very important to Root Adventures that our trips include mindful components. This might be yoga, meditation, journaling or other transformational activities. Every day we will have intentional practice and connect to nature, however this trip is for you! We encourage you to take time to rest, unplug, and do what feels right for you.
Yes. Each trip has two pre-trip calls via zoom. One will be about a month before departure and the second about a week before departure. You will have a chance to meet the other participants, the tour leader, and ask all remaining questions that you might have.
