Ask and you shall receive, you’ve all been asking for New Zealand and we are happy to say we found the perfect place! This place is next level, we will be on a private island, just a hop, skip and a jump from Auckland and accessible via paddleboard, helicopter, seaplane, private water taxi or ferry.

We will have multiple yoga spaces to choose from to practice in; harbor view studio, a bush-immersed yoga platform or a private floating marina, all with large open green spaces to enjoy while we practice.

Location

We will be staying on the stunning island of Kawau. The island enjoys its own micro-climate within the sub-tropical zone of northern New Zealand. Generally, you can expect to enjoy warm, humid, summer weather at the time of year we’ll be on the island.

The Island covers an area of approximately 5000 acres, is 8km by 5km at its longest axis, and is almost bisected by the long inlet of Bon Accord Harbour which is geologically a “drowned valley”.

There are many native birds on the Island and as you wander around you will hear and see Tui, Fantail, Kereru, Kingfisher, Silver-eye, Grey warblers, the cheeky flightless Weka and many different sea birds.

Kawau Island is of major cultural, spiritual and historical significance to Ngati Manuhiri and has long associations with their Te Kawerau relatives. Kawau is also the boundary for Ngati Wai and Marutuahu interests. Islanders are proud of their deep ecological commitment, being mindful of both the particular and challenging geography of Kawau and the beauty and importance of the sea surrounding us. Life on Kawau is unique!
