All breakfasts for the 9 days and 4 dinners are included.
Drinks are not included, except for breakfast.
For our kayak day, please bring snacks with you, as our main meal will be in the late afternoon or early evening.
*Please bring extra energy snacks for hiking and throughout the day (energy bars and other snacks).

Allergies: The huts and accommodations are very accommodating for dietary restrictions, including gluten-free options (except for breakfasts in Cadeques). Milk-free options are available for both dinner and breakfast, and vegetarian and vegan meals are also well catered for at dinner.

You’ll have the option to purchase energy bars and/or gluten-free bread (the best ever, handmade by my friend Gemma) to bring along.
Hut breakfasts are basic, so if you have specific preferences, you might want to bring some extras.

Typically, people go for drinks between 6 and 9pm, with dinner served between 8:30 and 10:30pm—this is the usual schedule for Spaniards. Therefore, many places in Cadeques and Barcelona won’t open for dinner until later.

Accommodation

In the Mountains in the Guesthouse and Hotel we will be in double room accommodation In the hut, we will be in a room with mattresses lined up next to another...that is the hut way. So know there are others in the room. Sometimes the huts can have few people we luck out and it’s just US!
In Costa Brava and Barcelona..we will be split into double rooms (2 per room)

We strongly recommend purchasing travel cancellation/interruption insurance to cover your costs if you have to cancel or interrupt your trip due to medical reasons, travel delay, lost luggage or other unforeseen emergencies.

To avoid disappointment and expense should you have to cancel your trip, we strongly recommend that you take out some form of insurance coverage.

Karrie

Karrie will serve as your guide on your trip. She has over 34 years of experience in the fitness field, including training, racing, nutrition, coaching, teaching a variety of fitness classes, and climbing mountains in the Alps.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrive Barcelona in early morning or arrive a couple days earlier and hang in Barcelona.

Our team and your Personal Driver awaits you and will take you to our first DROP OFF....1 hour away to a sweet little town of Sant Julia. What we find here I cannot share...just a wee welcome party with an incredible local woman.

Mid afternoon we drive another hour into the mountains near a town called Queralbs, a stunning old stone mountain town. We then drive up the mountain to our Bed and Breakfast, MAS LA CASANOVA.
*Everything needed for Cadeques can be left in the car.

Mini Hike to Queralbs for a wee town tour. This quaint mountain town just rocks! We get to hang out for a Kick-off dinner back at the house to fuel up for our first long hiking day.

First day accomplished. A very good fuel up and rest we need for a long day tomorrow. Lunch, Breakfast included. We are 1 night at MAS LA CASANOVA.

Day 2

This is a big one for a first hike. But first we enjoy Spanish breakfast at our Catalonian Castle.... We then grab our backpacks and head on the trail to Como de Vaca (the valley of the Cows) to Como de Vaca Hut - Oh, you will be sooo ready to put your feet up. Sleeping is in a Dorm Room which can fit up to 15 people. Necessary to have a sleeping bag liner.

1000m↑ 8km/5 hours. Power Yoga in front of the Hut is the late afternoon offering.

Day 3 - Early to rise and early out! - Part of GR11 Route

We wind up the Valley of the Cows towards the French Border and wind our way over varying terrain on the HIGH TRAIL - seeing into France. We pass over Pic de la Fossa and Pic de Nouscreus. After celebrating at the top, we wind our way back down the mountain into Nuria Valley. We can enjoy the lake in front of the Hotel (although no swimming in the lake).

Late afternoon Optional Hike on the other side of the valley...for 2 hours.
Dinner, breakfast.

950m - 950m↑ 15km, 6 hours

Day 4

Ahhh get up early and sit on the rocks by the stream and just take it in.... We have a 3-hour descent back into Queralbs, via the Pilgrimage Trail. At this point, we are soooo pumped to see Cadeques! It is now goodbye to the Pyrenees and hello Costa Brava. We have an approx 2-hour transfer to Cadeques. You will be blown away by this romantic coastal village.

We settle into my fav Hostal Vehi, the family-run Guesthouse right beside the old church from 1300... I then take you on an evening coastal hike on the Cava Trail... We can take as long or as short as we want (approx 3 hours)... Depending on how long we spend on K’s Secret naked swimming cove.

We are getting down at Juilio’s tonight for dinner (he has delectable handmade fresh pizza and the best Goat cheese and sundried tomato salad you could dig into).

Dinner is in Cadeques and is not included.
18km, 900↓/ 150↑ total for day Cadeques Welcome Hike - 2-3 hrs
Approx 3000 m of climbing in 3 Days.... it's time to rest the legs a bit... celebrate Spanish Style what we have accomplished and switch gears into something new!

Costa Brava, Cadeques and Kayak Dreams

Day 5

Optional 6am Very early morning for an optional SOUL AWAKENING run/hike to the hidden cove for a dip and YOGA/meditation by the sea... of course, the Sunset too! For those that want to sleep in... GO FOR IT... it’s another long day.

Breakfast at 8am - Take off time 8:45 hike with our backpacks to the Port L House of Dali where we meet PAU and our Kayaks - PAU is the BEST and a master... is a world of info on this area! Get ready for a sweet party on the water! He will be escorting us through the Cap de Creus... We paddle and we paddle.

In the afternoon, we have a fish dinner party on a cove - Our Fisherman and his Team will be combing the seas for our surprise dinner. In the evening, the final paddle of our day to Port de le Selva. Oh, to arrive here at night. We will be transferred back to Cadeques.

Soooo much to take in on this day.... I was in AHHHHH first time here.

*Breakfast, pack some snacks, lots of water...... FISHERMAN’s DINNER
5 - 6 hours Sea Kayaking in single or double kayaks. Snorkelling options when we take a break in the cove.

Day 6 - Cap de Creus Hike!

Before our chilled out breakfast... we have an option for early morning Yoga by the beach. Hike begins at 10:30... we wind our way not so far from the coast to the Big Lighthouse Cap de Creus. After exploring in this unique area and a snack/lunch at the Lighthouse restaurant... we wind our way back to Cadeques for more time to unwind in the town and a wonderful dinner out.

Option for SOUND HEALING early Evening with EMMA 25€-50€ each.

Breakfast 400m↑ 16km 4 hours.

Day 7 - Sant Baldiri Hike from Port de la Selva

Take off time to Barcelona is right after breakfast. Optional Lighthouse Run/Hike 6am.
1-2 hours (Only for real Keeners... after our long Kayak Day).

We have a Barcelona event planned mid afternoon... for a rocking final celebration together.
*Lunch and Dinner not included.

Day 8 - TO GIRONA - BARCELONA

Pick up in Cadaques - 9am - Travel to Girona - 3 hour Visit.
Transfer to Barcelona Hotel - Walk around Gothic Quarter and Yoga on the Beach.
Dinner at Theresa Carles Vegetarian Gem.

DAY 9 - MONTSERRAT ADVENTURE

Travel via Train to Monistrol de Montserrat - Monastery visit.
Hike to Sant Jeroni - and back is 20km-1000m - around 7 hours Round trip.
Options for Cable Car - would shorten this hike - 6km - 516m (cable car NOT INCLUDED).

This would be our longest day​.

Things to keep in mind

We charge cancellation fees for cancellations. These cancellation charges reflect the costs that we cannot reimburse in the event of cancellation, even if you have to do so due to illness, injury or personal emergencies. The fees charged reflect the expenses incurred in administering your reservation and planning your attendance. Please note that we do not issue refunds for unused portions of your trip, late arrival or early departure.

In the unfortunate event that you have to cancel your trip, your refund will be determined according to the following formula:

90 days or more: $100 per person
90-61 days: full deposit
60-30 days: 50% of the travel fee
29 days or less: No refund

If the registration is confirmed, a deposit is due within one week after receipt of the confirmation. This deposit is used to secure your place. The deposit amount is 30% of the total amount for 1-2 day tours. The remaining 70% is due 60 days before departure. If the deposit is not paid on time, your place will be cancelled.

Fitness Rating:

The hiking section requires good fitness but is not highly technical. The trails are well-defined and clear, with a difficulty level ranging from moderately hard to challenging.

Please Note:

Remember, weather can sometimes completely change the plans for a day or even a couple of days. There will always be a PLAN B (for the hiking route or activity) in case of bad weather.

Pack as light as possible for the hiking portion, using a 30-38 litre bag, or consider sharing a larger backpack.

There will always be side trips available, for example, on a really bad weather day, or if the group chooses, when time allows.

Diving in Cap de Creus National Park - 50 euros per person (insurance and license required)

Sagrada Familia (Barcelona, Gaudi)

Gaudi Museum

We won’t be doing the touristy activities together as a group, but on the second day, you will have a few hours of free time to explore on your own and enjoy some of these activities, like those listed above.
